I’ve just returned from attending the 10th annual SMPS Southern Regional Conference in San Antonio. I’m proud to say the Fort Worth Chapter was well represented with board members and members in attendance. This year’s conference had a record number of over 250 attendees, including members from the National Board of Directors. The sessions covered a wide range of topics for all levels of marketing and business development professionals, with plenty of networking opportunities included. As we all gathered for the closing luncheon and keynote speaker, it was announced that next year’s conference will be held in Fort Worth. I’m thrilled we’ll be able to show off our “Fort Worth Style” to the rest of the region. Make your plans now to attend. As soon as we know more details, we’ll add it to our website.
I hope you were able to attend January’s joint Fort Worth and Dallas Chapter Networking Mixer at OLENJACK’s GRILL in Arlington. This was a smashing success with an overflow crowd. We’re extremely fortunate here in the Metroplex to have two SMPS Chapters. Members from both chapters are able to attend events and programs on both sides of the Metroplex.
Coming later this month on Tuesday the 21st, is a Webinar Double Feature hosted by AUI Contractors. “Creating and Implementing a Strategic Marketing Plan” will be followed by a brief intermission where lunch will be provided. The second feature will be the live webinar, “Crisis Communication: The Elephant in the Room.” Plus, like all good Double Features, popcorn and soft drinks are included. Click here to register!
On the following Tuesday, January 28, Hahnfeld Hoffer and Stanford will host our bimonthly Peer to Peer Roundtable. This session will cover topics presented during the conference in San Antonio. If you attended, please bring your notes and join in the discussions. For those unable to attend the conference, please join us. Part of SMPS is educating each other about what you know and learn. We want to share and examine the information we learned.
I’m excited to announce that in April, Laurin McCraken will be speaking at our first “Bring Your Principal to netWORK”. This new program is our way of reaching out to owners and principals to thank them for supporting us, their marketing professionals, and SMPS. Marketers, bring your Principals. Principals, bring your Marketers. This program is a not to be missed. Laurin is the CMO for Jacobs Global Buildings, as well as a Past President of the SMPS National Board of Directors, the recipient of SMPS’ prestigious Marketing Achievement Award, a SMPS Fellows, AND a member of the Fort Worth Chapter. Mark April 3rd on your calendar and plan on joining us for this special event to be held at the Fort Worth Petroleum Club. Admission is two people for the price of one. Registration for this event is now available on our website in the events section.
Finally, all members of the SMPS Forth Worth Chapter will shortly be receiving a “Call for Nominations.” Each year, members have an opportunity to join the Board of Directors and help shape the future of our chapter. If you have any questions or would like additional information about joining the board, contact any Board member and we will be very happy to speak with you.
Come and join us on the Journey!
